About The Pine Cove
The Pine Cove Tavern was started way back in 1953 by Dave Mahan. He came up with the idea for the name “Pine Cove” from the wooden interior and cabin style feel of the bar. This second story bar is surrounded with windows and made super cozy with a built in fireplace. The Pine Cove has always been well loved for our free popcorn and the old school Pabst on tap. The atmosphere is a cross between sports bar - with 11 televisions, darts, Golden Tee, jukebox, and bar games – and friendly watering hole because of our beloved regulars and down to earth employees. This is probably the only bar in town where you will find Saccani Distributed beers. We have such a variety of unique beers on tap, you’ll be sure to find one you love.
In 1993, Dave sold the bar to his two sons Pat and Tim. The sons kept the traditions and drink prices the same. The Cove has some of the cheapest prices in the downtown area. You may have heard our clientele was mainly police: while we remain open to everyone, our main clientele is made up of 20-30 something’s now.
In 2006, Pat and Tim sold the bar to Ronica Anderson and Mike Rademaker, long time employees. Ronica started working at the Pine Cove in 1994 as a cocktail waitress and worked herself up to bartending and then managing. While employed at the bar, Ronica put herself through school to receive her Masters Degree in Business. Mike started as a Bouncer in 1997 and worked himself up to bartending and also received his Masters Degree in Communications. Same nostalgic bar, just a few new friendly faces.
